Whai Tauranga (NBL) tabbed 26-year old American 203cm forward Ira Lee (college: Arizona). Lee moved there from H.Be'er Sheva in Israeli Winner League. In 10 games he averaged 5.1ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.0bpg last season. He helped them to make it to the Israeli Cup Semifinals. The last summer he played at Hawkes Bay Hawks where in 14 New Zealand games he had very impressive stats: 16.9ppg, 8.9rpg, 1.6apg and 1.1spg.
Lee has played previously professionally in Finland (Vilpas) and France (ALM Evreux).
His college team won Pac-12 Tournament in 2018.
He graduated from University of Arizona in 2021 and it is his third season in pro basketball.
